Tailored event experiences, built with you

Bring the vision. We build the moment.

Magic Photo works with brands and agencies to turn an idea into something guests can see, play and share. We prototype quickly, iterate with your team and shape the technology around the brief, from AI photo worlds to interactive kiosks and games.

Client work and working prototypes include Dragon Striker with Disney and O11CE, Minions, The Daily Bugle and the Prism Drop interactive arcade.

What we do

The brief leads.
The format follows.

We work as a hands-on event marketing consultancy, bringing strategy, creative technology and event delivery into one small team. First we define the guest behaviour and the campaign outcome. Then we build the right experience for the room.

Photo worlds

AI transformations, composited scenes and branded formats that turn each guest into part of the campaign.

Interactive kiosks

Games such as Prism Drop, where a guest scans in, uses their own phone as the controller and plays on the event screen.

Your format

A camera, screen, game mechanic, live leaderboard, reward journey or shareable output shaped around the audience you want to move.

Photo-led client work

Three briefs. Three different builds.

Each activation began with a different client goal, crowd and creative world. The output changed with the brief. Here is what guests actually walked away with.

Disney and O11CE, Ultimate Football Fest

Dragon Striker

A football fest crowd, transformed into match-day heroes. Two looks ran side by side on the floor: a photoreal kit portrait and an illustrated hero render, so families and teenagers each got the version they wanted.

Illumination, cinema release activation

Minions and Monsters

A roaming promoter, a green screen and a set of monster plates. No booth, no queue. The guest is cut from their background and dropped into the scene, scaled to fit rather than cropped, so nobody loses their head to the frame.

Chroma-key scene composite, deterministic plate selection

An ordinary photo of a guest in a linen shirt against a plain wall, before any transformation.

The guest

Photographed on the floor in about three seconds.

A bright orange scene plate covered in cartoon monster eyeballs.

The plate

One of several scene backdrops, picked to match the guest.

The guest in goggles and denim composited into the orange monster scene.

The send

Composited, captioned and delivered to their chat.

Press-night activation

The Daily Bugle

The guest does not get a photo. They get a front page. Their portrait is typeset into a full tabloid cover, dateline and all. Every element is drawn at render time, so the photograph sits inside the page rather than in a hole cut out of it.

Deterministic 1620 by 2160 front page, composited server side

A Daily Bugle front page showing a guest caught in Spider-Man's web on a red carpet.
Production-compositor edition, built for one guest
A second Daily Bugle front page showing another guest tangled in Spider-Man's web.
A different guest, the same production pipeline

Why a newspaper

A portrait gets a glance. A front page gets read, screenshotted and sent on, because the guest is the story rather than the subject.

Built for the queue

The page is composed on the server in one pass, so the run keeps pace with the carpet instead of holding it up.

The Magic Photo booth: a tall black tower with a warm edge light running its full frame, a large portrait screen, and the sparkle mark glowing above the wordmark at the top.

A flexible platform

One kiosk. More than one kind of moment.

The 55 inch booth is a canvas for the experience we build together. It can reveal a guest portrait, host a phone-controlled game or carry the live content the room needs. Warm light and a full-height screen draw people in before the interaction takes over.

  • Portraits, games and live content One physical platform, adapted to the format and flow of each campaign.
  • Phone-controlled play Prism Drop turns the guest's own phone into a controller, with no app to install.
  • Rewards shaped to the brief Scoring and leaderboards are ready. Voucher or prize mechanics can be designed around the campaign.

How we work

One to two weeks, idea to working MVP.

A focused activation can move quickly when the client stays close to the build. You see it early, use it and help us make the next version better.

STEP 01

Align

We define the audience, the venue, the behaviour you want and what a good outcome looks like.

STEP 02

Prototype

We turn the strongest idea into a working MVP your team can see and try.

STEP 03

Iterate

We go back and forth quickly, refining the interaction, the visuals and the event flow.

STEP 04

Deploy

We test the complete experience, prepare the floor team and take the build live.

One possible outcome

When the output is personal, it should land personally.

For a photo-led build, the portrait can arrive in the same WhatsApp thread as the guest's family and friends. A game-led brief might end in a score, a leaderboard or a tailored reward journey. The finish should fit the experience.

We choose the channel with the client team, so the hand-off carries the idea through to the final guest moment.

Built for client review

Privacy your legal team can actually sign off.

Guest-facing experiences put brands close to the public, so the paperwork matters as much as the interaction. Ours is written to be read.

Read the privacy policy

  • Consent at the point of capture Every guest opts in before a photo is taken, and the record travels with the session.
  • POPIA-facing from the start Written for South African law rather than translated from somewhere else.
  • No guest faces in our marketing Every person shown on this site is AI generated. Guest photos stay with the guest.
  • Your data stays yours Campaign imagery and reporting belong to the brief, not to us.

Bring the half-formed idea.

A mood board, campaign objective or "could we make this happen?" is enough. We will shape the guest journey, show you a working MVP and refine it with your team.
